How to describe content

In the reference list

Sometimes it is necessary to provide an explanation of the type of source you have used. It can be audiobooks, movies, photographs, software, etc. You create a description that fits the source and place it in square brackets after the title.

Text in square brackets should never be italicized.

Example 1:

Kaplan, J. & Yen, J. (2024). Generative artificial intelligence : what everyone needs to know [Audio book]. Tantor Media.

Example 2:

Tungohan, E.. (Host). (2021–present). Academic aunties [Audio podcast]. Academic aunties. https://www.academicaunties.com

Note:

You can find square brackets on the keyboard:

  • Win: Alt gr + 8 [ and alt gr + 9 ]
  • Mac: Command + 8 [ and command + 9 ]

EndNote
